Working with Interior Designers

I have worked with interior designers as a principal contractor and more recently as a project manager and so I believe I know what is required which is ultimately ensuring you are a team player and all parties are kept informed.

My feeling is designers want to concentrate on the design, which is what they are good at, and be less distracted with build and site matters.  I can help document and run tenders, analyse contractors’ budgets through to advising on the contractor appointment and contracts and ultimately manage the refurbishment project onsite and report back.  Freeing up more of your time to design!

I can form part of your interior design project management team or stand alone as Maltwood project management. I work flexibly with a number of my clients and am happy to discuss possible options for structuring our working relationship.

I will manage all valuations, variations and programme matters so again you are concentrating on designing not the actual build.

Of course if there’s no time for a 3 week tender process I can recommend a building contractor who I think is correctly set up for the project – I will brief the contractor take him around the site and develop a pricing document that will allow us to ensure your client is getting a completive price. Lastly, I can simply manage an already appointed contractor to oversee the build.
